WHAT IS FRESH Rx FOR MOMS?

Fresh Rx for MOMs is a program that helps expectant mothers receiving Medicaid access fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Enjoy our fresh Certified Organic produce that supports a healthy pregnancy!

How it works

Mothers-to-be who are referred to the program by their health care providers will receive a weekly share of Lazy Eight Stock Farm Certified Organic produce. The shares are available at convenient locations and times during the growing season – May through October.

Funding is provided by the USDA Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program in partnership with Community Farm Alliance

1.  Who can join Fresh Rx

– This program is for pregnant women (up to 32 weeks) who are receiving Medicaid and who live in Madison, Garrard, Boyle, or Fayette County.

3. How to get your weekly box of vegetables

Each week you will receive a box of Fresh Rx vegetables grown for you at Lazy Eight Stock Farm delivered to one of our convenient pickup sites. You will be able to select the types of vegetables based on what is being harvested that week on the farm. You will also receive simple recipes and cooking tips to help you enjoy your share.
